Hi, I am the Prequalified Assistant and welcome to my way of making the “prequalified journey” a bit more helpful and useful for those of us in psychology related fields, looking for practical, individualised, help along the way.
If it wasn’t for the advice I received in the past and the time spent by others on me, I would not have been successful in reaching the stage I am at in my career. I have been thinking for a while now about how the “prequalified journey” in psychology and related areas, can be better facilitated by those in the field.
Let’s be honest, for psychology graduates, there is no straight path! It’s far from a perfect system but we don’t have to go at it alone. Thus, the idea of Pre-Qualified Assistant was birthed.
I have 10 years’ experience of being in pre-qualified roles within the NHS, private services, health and social care settings as well as academia.
I wanted to explore the different prequalified roles available. This has led me to gain invaluable experiences in the following job roles:
You can probably conclude that I have had many interviews! I have learnt various ways to speak to people and how I communicate well my experiences. What I will offer is hopefully a useful conversations and practical help in assisting you in your future goals.
Let’s face it- this is an uncertain path and can lead to all sorts of directions. One of the challenges is that rejections can feel so personal at times when the reality is the field is just very competitive.
Someone in the prequalified position is a graduate from a psychology degree who aims to work in a role at pre-training level.*
*You don’t have to be a new graduate to use this service, as I am happy to work with others who have been in this position for a while also.
